Most people want to know more
about a company they might do business with. Especially when the deal
sounds to good to be true.
The basic idea is to make the electric grid more like the Internet with
lots of clean power generation going on everywhere.
To find out more about the offer to rent solar power, click on the
banner at the top. You can lock in your electric rate for up
to
25 years!

On
this site you'll find various sales material for my efforts to get
Maryland converted to renewable energy. Above you see the
basic
deal. Rent solar power and leave all the hassles
behind. You can click here
or on the banner above to get started. The map of the US at
the
bottom of that page can be used to show you what rate is being
offered. The rates are given in dollars per kilowatt-hour.
For just about anyone in Maryland, you'll start saving money
as
soon as the system is installed. Just click on "Reserve your
System," fill in the forms, and you're started.
Why is
this cheaper?
There are two reasons. First, the company bases its
rates
on what the power companies tell the state they have been charging.
This means that the rental rates are always a year behind.
2006 rates were to come into effect on March 1, 2007, but if
you
see 8.8¢ ($0.088) for the Baltimore Gas and Electric rate,
you'll
know the company is still working on that part. All the
better
for you. At 8.8¢ per kilowatt hour you'll save 30%.
The second reason everyone in Maryland saves money is because
you
avoid the distribution charge in your electric bill. The
company
is matching last year's standard offer of service, but there is another
2¢ or so of distribution charge in your bill that you won't
have
to pay under net metering.
Wait, net
metering,
what's that? In Maryland, people who generate power for
themselves don't have to do it on their own. They can provide
power to their neighbors and the rest of the grid sometimes and get it
back at other times. This is called net metering because it
works
with your regular electric meter. When you are producing
power
that you are not using, you meter runs backwards. The idea is
to
have just the right size system so that, over a year, your meter ends
up just where it started. Net metering is a great idea.
You can read the new Maryland law here and if you have an HOA you are covered by this 1980 law which protects you from unreasonable restrictions. |

Why am I posting my sale
materials? I thought you might want to pass them around.
If you think someone you know would like clean energy at a better
price, it is easy to print a flyer or a pamphlet to get them started.
Is your landlord complaining about the cost of power?
Give
him a flyer. Is your whole lunch room upset with BGE?
Put
up a pinup.
If
you have an aunt who likes clean air but doesn't use a computer show
her a pamphlet.
If you want to get more
involved, click on "Become an Ecopeneur" at this link.
